Tasty Plate looks forward to securing other corporate catering events on the back of a “super successful” service at the 2022 Warrnambool May Racing Carnival.
As a local Social Enterprise supporting the inclusion of people with disability in the hospitality industry, Tasty Plate produced a daily six-hour hot and cold finger food catering package to pre-booked corporate groups at the event.
Members of our kitchen and catering team were set up nearby with our Tasty Plate mobile kitchen, a mobile cool room and freezer and service marquee. It was a pretty impressive set-up!
They were involved both at the Fairy Street kitchen site and the trackside mobile site across the three-day event.
Tasty Plate is part of the Realise Enterprises Division of Brophy which provides skill development for people with disability and pathways to employment which benefit the community. Executive Manager Maree Wyse said the event was a major win for participants, Tasty Plate and the community.
“This event enabled participants to get involved both in the kitchen menu preparations along with being trackside as part of the kitchen and front of house team,” Maree said.
“They were able to adapt to a new setting, and confidently demonstrated their hospitality and customer service skills.
“All the participants involved with the trackside catering found the event very enjoyable and they are keen to take on other opportunities into the future.”
Maree said this contract was another chance for the community to sample Tasty Plate’s high-quality food.
“We consider Tasty Plate to be a respected industry name in the local catering market,” she said.
“Overall the event was a huge success for us.”
