Maxie has been busy.

Over the past few weeks, Brophy’s little koala buddy has been out and about across the community, collecting Easter eggs from some very generous local supporters — and he’s absolutely blown away by the response.

With drop-off points at Fit After Forty, LevelUp, Norfolk Butchers and Breakwater Insurance Brokers, the community showed up in a big way. Box after box of Easter eggs came in, all with one purpose: to make sure no child living in foster or kinship care misses out this Easter.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.

Because of your generosity, Maxie now gets to deliver these donations to the Easter Bunny, who will help ensure carers across our region have eggs to share with the children and young people they support.

Moments like this matter more than you might realise. They’re about more than chocolate — they’re about belonging, joy, and feeling remembered.

Could you be part of a child’s story?

While Easter is a special time, the need for safe, supportive homes for children and young people exists all year round.

Foster carers play a vital role in providing stability, care and connection during some of the most challenging times in a young person’s life.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a foster carer, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t have to have all the answers. Brophy will walk alongside you every step of the way.

Supporting kinship carers in our community

Sometimes, when children and young people can’t live with their parents, someone they already know and trust steps in — a grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, family friend or another close connection. These people are known as kinship carers.

Kinship care plays a crucial role in keeping children connected to their family, community and culture — but it can also come with challenges.

At Brophy, we support kinship carers to help make care sustainable and supported. This includes:

  • Case management support for children and young people on statutory orders
  • Advice and information services, including referrals, crisis support and training opportunities
  • Support groups and First Supports, offering connection, shared learning and practical guidance

These supports help carers feel more confident, less isolated, and better equipped — giving children the stability and care they deserve.

If you’re a kinship carer, or supporting someone who is, we’re here to help.
