A new Youth Café launching in Warrnambool will provide a welcoming and inclusive space for young people aged 16 to 25 to connect, relax, and access support.

Brophy’s ‘Youth Café’ will run every Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5pm, starting March 26, in the CYC café kitchen area at 210 Timor Street, Warrnambool.

Open to all young people — not just those engaged with Brophy programs — the Youth Café is designed to create opportunities for connection, support, and community involvement.

Fostering a sense of belonging is key to helping young people feel more confident, engaged, and empowered.

What the Youth Café offers:

  • A casual, drop-in space where young people can grab something to eat and drink, charge their phone, and chat with a supportive adult.

  • A chance to meet others, build relationships, and access information about programs and services.

  • A relaxed, informal environment where young people can engage with Brophy staff and, over time, community mentors.

The Youth Support Team at Brophy has developed the project with input from teams across the agency, recognising the need for a space where young people can feel safe and connected to their community.

Brophy encourages parents, carers, and local networks to spread the word and make sure young people know about this exciting new opportunity.

Lily Bourke – Youth Support Team, Brophy:

“We know that creating spaces where young people feel comfortable and connected to their community makes a huge difference. The Youth Café is about giving them a place where they feel supported, can meet others, and access opportunities without pressure or expectation.”
