Young people across the Southern Grampians are invited to come together for a free night at the movies as headspace Hamilton marks mental health month with a special headspace Day Movie Night.
The event will be held at Hamilton Cinema on Wednesday 14 October from 5.30pm to 8pm, with young people aged 12 to 25 invited to attend.
The night will feature a screening of Hairspray, with free movie tickets and snacks provided.
The event is designed to give young people an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed night out with friends while also promoting positive messages around body positivity, self-kindness and mental health.
No registration is required, with young people encouraged to simply come along on the night.
headspace Hamilton Changemaker Angelina Juby said the event was about creating a fun and welcoming space for young people while encouraging positive conversations about wellbeing.
“This event is all about creating a positive environment around body image as it’s something that all teens around the world struggle with in silence,” they said.
“Come along to help raise awareness, learn about ways to have a healthy relationship with your body and help those around you as well.”
“headspace Day is a great opportunity to remind young people that mental health is something we can talk about, and that support is available if they need it.”
The headspace Day Movie Night is open to young people aged 12–25 and will run from 5.30pm to 8pm on Wednesday 14 October at Hamilton Cinema.
