Brophy is expanding the delivery of mental health services to young people across the south-west with a brand-new headspace centre in Hamilton.

It means young people aged 12 to 25 will be able to access support in the heart of Hamilton.

The new centre will build on existing mental health infrastructure to provide more support to the region’s youth.

Brophy and Western Victoria Primary Health Network will provide updates to the community about the development of the centre as it progresses.

In the meantime, visit https://headspace.org.au/online-and-phone-support/ or call 1800 650 890 for eheadspace support.

Youth Reference Group meetings

Brophy is seeking Southern Grampians Shire Council-based young people to join our headspace Youth Reference Group!

The YRG is a group of volunteers aged 16 to 25 who care about youth mental health and want to have a say in how headspace delivers its services.

If you would like further information about the YRG, or to express your interest in becoming a YRG member please visit this link.

Pamela Mawson

Operations Manager

I am passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential, so I’m pleased to be working for headspace and support the vision for young people to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities and to help them, and those who support them, to access services and support that they may need.

To relax and recharge I like to take my dogs for a walk get out in nature.

The Operations Manager leads the daily operations and outcomes of programs and services for young people and their families and have responsibility for the development and review of service planning, management and leading the coordination of quality and practice systems.

Deb Armstrong

Clinical Lead

My role as Clinical Lead allows me to not only share my years of clinical expertise, but also work with leadership to create a Centre culture that gives each staff person a safe place to be themselves, give their best, and shine.

I love the holistic, early intervention model of headspace, and am looking forward to providing opportunities for positive change in my new community and creating better outcomes for young people who are struggling.

Outside of work, I enjoy the arts, travelling, and finding new ways to create balance in my life. My ginger ninja cat Chester is a big part of my self care.

Jacinta Kimber

Community Awareness & Engagement Worker

I am a Gunditjmara woman living and working on country.  I love connecting people together and creating awareness in the community around Mental Health and Social, emotional well-being.

The Community Awareness and Engagement Worker promotes services of headspace programs to help young people, their families, and friends to get early access to health and other services.

I’m passionate about working for headspace, because of their approach to Mental Health with young people, their families, and friends.
