About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Therapeutic House Supervisor, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed care to children and young people in residential care. Working alongside a dedicated therapeutic care team, you’ll provide leadership, support, and mentorship to our Residential Care Workers while ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of those in our care.
In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships with children, families, and carers, implementing therapeutic care frameworks, and contributing to program planning and annual improvement activities. You will manage case contracts, create structured staff rosters, and oversee budgets, ensuring that all aspects of care run smoothly. Your ability to innovate and develop flexible solutions will be key in making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in our care.
Our Therapeutic House Supervisors are responsible for providing provide effective and supportive supervision and immediate support to our Residential Care Team during crisis situations.

Do your skills include:
- Ability to bring a flexible, passionate & innovative approach to your work.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to provide effective and supportive supervision of team members and to facilitate a team approach to achieve service objectives.
- Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation, including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency for children & young people in care.
- A demonstrated knowledge of trauma informed practice, including the TCI, Healing Matters and PTK frameworks and the ability to implement with clients and Residential Carers
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation relevant to the role, case management practice, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate experience in liaising with a diverse range of clients.
- A genuine interest and demonstrated empathy for children & young people in care and an open minded and non-judgemental manner.
- Ability to use Microsoft office suite of products, along with experience in electronic databases and case file noting.
Are your credentials:
- A minimum qualification of a Cert IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention, Diploma of Community Services or Bachelor of Social Work or other similar/relevant tertiary qualification. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: ie. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.); and
- Completion of Mandatory Trauma Units
- CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care
- CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care
- CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification and willingness to upgrade to TCI 7 if required.
- Willingness to undertake before employment and maintain a valid First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificates.
- A current Drivers Licence.
