We’re stoked to share that STOKED Surf Therapy has taken out the Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion in Sport award at the South West Community Sports Awards!

This win recognises STOKED’s commitment to creating an inclusive, culturally safe space for young people through its Indigenous surf therapy program. Coordinated by Chrissie Duncan, the program fosters wellbeing, confidence and connection through the healing power of the ocean.

STOKED is a surf therapy program for young people aged 14 to 25 that uses surfing as a tool for building mental health, emotional resilience and social connection. With a focus on cultural inclusion and community connection, STOKED offers young people a unique way to grow, heal and thrive — all while riding waves along our beautiful coastline.

This award highlights just how powerful programs like STOKED can be in creating lasting impact through sport and connection.
