Share our vision and help us provide opportunities for children and young people to use their skills and talents, in strengthening families and building communities.

Become a Foster Carer

Brophy urgently needs more Foster Carers to help our kids stay connected to their schools, hobbies and friends. If you think can help to provide local care for local kids – it doesn’t have to be full time! – take our quiz to the left of the screen and get in touch!

Become a Volunteer

L2P Learner Driver Mentor

The TAC L2P Learner Driver Mentor program assists learners under 21 years of age, without access to a supervising driver or vehicle, to gain the 120 hours of driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence.

Young people are matched with fully licensed volunteer mentors, and use a Brophy vehicle to gain supervised driving experience. TAC L2P is not professional driving lessons, and TAC L2P does not pay for the probationary driving test itself.

To become a volunteer mentor in the TAC L2P program, you need to be:

– Interested in helping young people
– Over 21 years of age
– A current full Victorian driver’s licence holder
– Screened and onboarded by Brophy.

Volunteers undertake a comprehensive VicRoads training program to become learner driver mentors. Fill out the application form below and contact youthoppsteam@brophy.org.au if you’re interested!

NILS Volunteer

The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILs) program is looking for amazing people to join them as volunteers.  Do you know someone? Would you have spare time to volunteer?

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You will be supported by the NILs Team to learn how to complete phone, or face to face interviews with people wishing to access NILs loans.

Using an online app, you will enter in a person’s budget information (grocery costs, other loans, fuel, medicines etc.) to help ascertain their eligibility for a NILs loan.

An interview takes about 45 minutes of your time to complete, and you can be flexible within regular work hours of 9am-5pm.

You can volunteer to complete as many or as few interviews a week – dependent on what suits you.

Full training and support from Brophy is provided.

FUN FACTS:

The NILs team processes an average of 80 loan enquiries a month with an average of 50 successful loans coming out of the interviews and assessments!

Volunteers are essential to the running of the program!
Volunteers feel proud to be able to support the vulnerable members of our community and help reduce the amount of Payday Lender loans people may access that come with terribly high fees and interest charges!

You can have full flexibility in how and where you complete the interviews!

The HSL/NILs team is great and will be super supportive!

Did we mention training is provided?

Fundraise for us

We are thrilled when others in our community want to help us out and fundraising is a fun and rewarding way to make a big difference to those we are here to support.  Fun run, trivia night, cake sale, sausage sizzle, art exhibition or online fundraising  – your support is really appreciated.

If you’re planning a fundraiser, and want to find out how to support us with it please contact Carly Maher Customer Service Coordinator at admin@brophy.org.au
